Redevelopment plans in Midland to turn the eastern suburb into a commercial and retail hotspot will help create new jobs for Perth.

Plans for the $30 million Woodbridge apartment complex will take 18 months to build and create 80 jobs.

This land is owned by the State Government and is being used as part of the Metronet plan to create affordable housing close to public transport.

The heritage-listed Midland Railway Workshops will become a medical and knowledge hub.

It is the site of the new St John of God Hospital and where Curtin University will be opening their new campus.

The expansion of Midland Gate Shopping Centre is underway and the train station will be redeveloped.
