Teen dead, two others injured in WA crash

A 16-year-old boy is dead and two other people are in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Marrinup, south of Perth.
Police say the trio were riding on a quad bike on an unsealed section of Scarp Road near North Spur Road about 3.30pm on Monday when the 40-year-old rider lost control of the bike and struck a tree.
He and his two pillion passengers were thrown off the bike and the teenager died from his injuries.

The rider and a 17-year-old boy also suffered serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.
Major Crash investigators are seeking witnesses who saw the bike before the crash.
The death takes the West Australian road toll for the holiday period to two.
