A fisherman who failed to return home from an boat trip in Western Australia's north-west has been found.

Police launched a search and rescue operation for Kevin Cunningham, who was last heard from at 7pm yesterday.

The 44-year-old had been sailing his 5.8-metre black Bar Crusher boat from Wandoo to the Dampier Boat Ramp in the Pilbara.

A fisherman who failed to return home from an overnight boat trip in Western Australia's north-west has been found.  Supplied

His car and boat trailer were found at Dampier Boat Ramp by police this morning.

Police confirmed that Cunningham and his dog have now arrived back at Dampier Boat Ramp, and appeared to be in good health.

He "experienced issues with the vessel last night and was forced to camp overnight at Rosemary Island," WA Police said.
