Involvement ends for MH370 search vessel

Only one vessel is currently searching for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, with one ship poised to leave for its next project and another docked in a West Australian port.

The Fugro Discovery will depart the search zone in the southern Indian Ocean for the last time on Thursday, while the Dong Hai Jui 101 is in Fremantle for a scheduled port visit.

That leaves the Fugro Equator conducting the search, which is in its final stages, with less than 10,000 square kilometres left to be combed.

Australian, Chinese and Malaysian transport ministers recently announced the search would be suspended unless credible new evidence emerged about the specific location of the Boeing 777.

Beijing-bound flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014 with 239 people on board.
