Innocent motorist rammed by alleged drink driver fleeing police
WA Police say a 31-year-old driver who smashed into another car while fleeing police was allegedly three times the legal limit.
It happened around 6:30pm last night in Perth at the busy intersection of Rockingham and Anketell roads in Naval Base.
A patrol car travelling south on Rockingham Road spotted the blue Commodore driving past at high speed.
The officers tried to stop the vehicle but it allegedly sped off into the distance.
A short time later police came across a crash scene, finding the blue Commodore wedged in bushland after it T-boned an innocent driver in a white Mitsubishi Lancer.
The 25-year-old man driving the Lancer was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital with head injuries and is now in a stable condition.
His 51-year-old passenger also taken to Rockingham Hospital for a check up.
Police say the 31-year-old Commodore driver ran from the scene, but was arrested a short time later, where it's alleged he blew three times the legal limit.
The man from Leda is expected to face Rockingham Magistrates court on March 6.
