Alleged child abductor faces WA court

A 52-year-old man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting two children has appeared briefly in a Perth court.
The man, known only as Mr X because his name is suppressed, is alleged to have abducted a four-year-old girl and five-year-old boy from a school holiday care program in North Perth two weeks ago, before abusing them and leaving them at Hyde Park.
Mr X appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday via video link from Hakea prison and was remanded in custody until May 11.
