Jetstar and Virgin cancel flights to Bali due to ash cloud

Jetstar and Virgin have cancelled all flights between Australia and Bali today, saying unfavourable winds are pushing a volcanic ash cloud closer to Denpasar airport.

Flights between Australia and Bali have been grounded since Wednesday evening because of the cloud in Indonesian air space.

Jetstar's cancellations affect passengers flying from Brisbane and Perth.

VIRGIN FULL STATEMENT

Virgin Australia has cancelled all flights to and from Denpasar (Bali) today due to the impacts of the volcanic eruption at Mt Raung. Our team of meteorologists has continued to monitor the situation in consultation with the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre in Darwin. 

Customers scheduled to travel tomorrow (10 July) are advised to check the latest flight information on our website here before proceeding to the airport.

Guests whose flights have been cancelled as a result of the volcanic activity will be able to change their booking to another flight within 14 days at no extra charge or receive a full travel credit by contacting our Guest Contact Centre on 13 67 89 or +61 7 3295 2296.
