A Virgin Australia flight made a delayed landing at Sydney Airport today after two aborted approaches due to bad weather and a technical issue.

Flight VA916 departed Brisbane at 7.44am local time and was due to arrive in Sydney at 9.40am AEDT.

However FlightRadar data shows the plane circled the Sydney coastline twice in a "go around" for close to an hour before eventually landing at 10.45am.

The flight was delayed over two missed approaches.

The first landing was aborted was due to heavy rain and low cloud coverage, while the second was due to technical issue regarding the left wing, according to Virgin.
