Man found dead in Melbourne street

Police are investigating after a man was found dead on a street in Melbourne’s south.

The 57 year-old was found by passersby at the intersection of Point Nepean and Boneo roads in Rosebud just before 12.40am on Saturday.

The man, who police say was local, was given CPR but could not be saved.

Police spoke to a bus driver in relation to the death but say it is no longer being treated as a hit-and-run.

A report will be prepared for the coroner and police are appealing for information.
