Police have described an alleged violent affray in Melbourne's north that left one man with a serious stab wound as "brazen and disgusting".
Chaotic scenes unfolded outside a police station on Dimboola Road in Broadmeadows about 5pm yesterday, as multiple people called Triple Zero while witnessing what appeared to be a road rage incident.
A Kia and a Volkswagen Golf were allegedly driving "erratically", before the Kia was seen ramming the Volkswagen as it chased it into a petrol station.

Both cars drove on the wrong side of Pascoe Vale Road.
The Kia then collided with another car on the road. Nobody was injured in the collision.
A 20-year-old man emerged from one of the cars and was allegedly stabbed in the upper arm with what is believed to be a kitchen knife.
He was left with a deep laceration and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Detective Sergeant Jess Graham witnessed the ordeal from inside the police station and said the Kia appeared to be "chasing" the Volkswagen.
The incident is believed to have been a road rage attack.
"It's disgusting, it's brazen. They didn't care they were on the wrong side of the road," Graham said.
"There were people everywhere, cars everywhere. They didn't care."

Investigators are still trying to determine who played what part in the affray.
"We're trying to determine which car they were all in, who did the stabbing, what their involvement is," Graham said.
"The community's been fantastic. The people involved? Not so much."
Four people – a 15-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old man – were arrested at the scene a short time later.
They were all released pending further enquiries.
