Two charged in relation to a public shooting in Sydney's south-west

Two men will appear in court today after being charged in relation to a shooting in south-west Sydney last year.

A parked car was found damaged after reports of gunshots in Bailey Street, Leumeah, just after 4am on June 20 last year. No one was injured.

A man aged 41 was arrested at the time and charged with unrelated matters.

After a six-month investigation, police yesterday arrested the same man, now aged 42, at a hotel on the Hume Highway at Cabramatta.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at a vehicle stop on Nardoo Street, Ingleburn, on the same day.

Both men have been charged with several offences.

The 42-year-old was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited firearm to an unauthorised person, supplying a pistol to a person unauthorised to possess it, supplying prohibited drugs, firing a gun at a dwelling while disregarding safety (DV), contravening AVO restrictions and not disclosing the identity of a driver or passenger in a car.

The 33-year-old was charged with three counts of acquiring a prohibited firearm from an unauthorised supplier and driving while a licence is suspended.

Both men were refused bail and will appear in court today.
