The top 10 highest-paying jobs that will remain in demand over the next decade have been revealed by global firm GoBankingRates.
As AI continues to automate aspects of every industry, some jobs are sure to stick around.
10. Accountant
While AI can easily crunch numbers, it is unable to make strategic decisions through critical judgment.
The human aspect of accounting, such as judgement and interpretation, will still be needed after the numbers are taken care of.
Accountants make between $70,000 to $90,000 a year, according to job search site Seek.
9. Editor
Artificial intelligence can write like a pro, there's no doubt about that, however, AI language models, like ChatGPT, "hallucinate", meaning they create false case studies and sources.
Editors will still be needed to correct and fact-check AI-created text.
The median wage for an editor ranges between $85,000 to $105,000 per year, according to Seek.
7. Creatives
Careers across the arts are still close to untouchable when it comes to AI automation.
While AI provides tools to make music production and film editing more efficient, the arts are dependent on crafting a relatable human experience.
Singers, songwriters, artists, dancers and filmmakers all draw inspiration from real-life experiences, emotions and connections to create art that resonates with their audience - something AI cannot do.
Jobs within the arts, entertainment, and recreation industry average a $73,000 salary, according to market data company Payscale.
6. Social worker
Social workers deal with people every single day.
Whether it's in the disability field, youth work or mental health assistance, the job is focused on human interaction.
The nature of the job can not be replicated by AI.
The average annual salary of a social worker sits between $85,000 and $100,000 a year.
4. Human resources specialist
Human resources specialists deal with a wide range of issues that require human interaction.
They must think critically to resolve grievances in the workplace with empathy and compassion.
The average salary for a Human resources worker is $97,500, according to career insights company Glassdoor.
3. Teachers
Being able to teach a generation of students is not something AI is yet able to do.
It involves a wide range of interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, as well as problem-solving and human connection.
Demand for teachers will always exist.
The average salary of a teacher varies from state to state, however in NSW its between $95,000 to $145,000.
1. Project manager
Project managers are responsible for "identifying project goals and scope, planning and documenting project tasks and ensuring deliverables are delivered on time," according to the Project Management Institute.
The global economy will need 25 million new project management professionals by 2023, the institute said.
While AI is a helpful tool, project managers may always be needed.
The average salary of a project manager is between $135,000 and $155,000.
