Two people dead in car crash near Byron Bay
Two people have been killed in a crash near Byron Bay in NSW.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash in Suffolk Park on the outskirts of the holiday town.
Both drivers, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s died at the scene on Broken Head Road, NSW Police said.
A passenger of the second vehicle, a woman in her 60s, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
People in a third vehicle were uninjured.
Police are appealing for information or dashcam footage.
Broken Head Road is closed between Beech Drive and Broken Head Reserve Road.
A crime scene has been established and the public has been urged by police to avoid the area.
