Karl slams suggestion Katy Perry can't sing 'Roar' at AFL Grand Final
There is a rumour Katy Perry has been asked not to perform her hit 2013 single Roar at this year's AFL Grand Final, out of concern it will give the Brisbane Lions an unfair advantage.
The team take on the Sydney Swans on Saturday afternoon, with Perry already in town to perform as the team's halftime entertainment.
But when Sarah Abo suggested the 13x Grammy nominee might give the Lions a boost on the field by performing the song, her Today co-host rubbished the idea.

"Oh surely the Swans can't be that sensitive," Karl Stefanovic said.
"You know this whole thing is really giving me the irks - let's just explode about how how upset we are at it.
"How can she not sing that song? Isn't it overemphasising the importance of someone who sings a two-minute song at half time, and the significance of them in the Grand Final? Oh hang on, she can't sing that because the Lions might win."
But Sarah pointed out the Lions are the underdogs, with the Swans currently on top of the ladder and already predicted to take out the Premiership.

"Let's just explode about how upset we are about it," she laughed.
"You should tell the AFL, I hope they're listening - Karl's got some advice for you."
