Dan Anstey has been announced as the latest addition to the Today family. Today
The award-winning radio and TV personality left his role at Triple M for the new gig, which was revealed live on Today on Monday morning.
“We just heard that you resigned from Triple M about half an hour ago. So we thought, oh, he’ll do,” Sylvia Jeffreys said.
Anstey replied: “They were very happy to get rid of me, so I’m your problem now!”
He will present Today weather from Monday to Wednesday, then co-host Weekend Today with Alison Piotrowski and Lizzie Pearl on Saturday and Sunday.
He seemed happy to step back from his radio job, which had him working a seven-day roster despite having two small children at home.
“That’s been the issue of contention over the last five years, so nice to downgrade that slightly just to the regular old five days a week,” Anstey said.
But one of his children accidentally leaked the news early, when he told his daycare classmates his family were moving to Sydney during show and tell.
Anstey is currently based in Brisbane and will relocate to Sydney with his wife and children in the new year.

“I feel like a kid in a candy store who got to choose my two favourite lollies,” he said in a press statement.
“This truly is the best of both worlds - getting out with our viewers when presenting weather and then joining Ali and Lizzie in studio bringing the latest news, sport and entertainment each weekend.
“I can’t wait to be part of it all, and am pumped for what 2027 holds!”
Nine’s Director of Morning Television, Steven Burling, said: “Dan is a familiar and much-loved face to audiences through his hosting and weather presenting on both programs over the past four years.
“He is one of the sharpest and most exciting talents out there, and we’re lucky to have him as a permanent part of the team from next year.”
We’d love to hear from you
