Hyundai recalls more than 2000 family cars over airbag concerns
More than 2000 Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles have been recalled over a manufacturing fault that has the potential to stop an airbag deploying.
The Department of Transport said the airbag wiring harness under the rear passenger seat of the SUV may not have been adequately secured.
"As a result, it may become damaged over time due to seat adjustment leading to inadvertent deployment or an inability to deploy the rear seat side airbags," it said in its recall notice.

"In the event of an accident, an airbag not deploying as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants."
The recall is for 2065 Santa Fe (MX5) vehicles from the 2024 range.
Owners of impacted vehicles should contact their nearest authorised Hyundai dealer to schedule an appointment to have the airbag wire harness inspected and rectified, free of charge.
