Commuters face delays as Sydney trains hit by urgent repairs

Sydney train passengers face ongoing delays after a broken rail caused commuter chaos earlier this morning.

Sydney trains’ T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra and South Coast line was affected by urgent track repairs at Oatley.

Passengers complained of delays of up to an hour.

While emergency repairs have now been done, a knock-on effect is expected.

Buses have been brought in between Sutherland and Hurstville, while other customers are being warned to allow extra travel time.

Sydney Trains said on Twitter: “Flow-on delays & service changes are impacting services. We appreciate your patience as we work hard to return services back to normal after broken rail at Oatley required emergency repairs this morning.”
