Man shot twice as seven armed men storm home and 'terrorise' Sydney family
A manhunt is under way after a man was shot during a home invasion allegedly involving seven men, a machete and two firearms in Sydney's south-west overnight.
Emergency services were called to a home on Mary Wade Place in Carnes Hill at about 12.45am.
Paramedics treated a 25-year-old man for a gunshot wound to the right leg.

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Four people aged between 25 and 51 were home at the time.
No one else was badly injured, however, Liverpool Commander Superintendent Adam Whyte said the family of four was "terrorised" by the group.
He also confirmed that seven men wearing face coverings had broken into the home.

Three were armed with a machete, a shotgun and a pistol, he also said.
They confronted the 25-year-old and demanded money before he was shot twice.
The group left immediately after the alleged shooting, Whyte also said.

The men then poured petrol through the home but did not ignite it, before fleeing in two separate vehicles.
Accelerant was also poured on the front door and was set alight, but the flames self-extinguished.
A shotgun was also fired at a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home as the group was leaving.
The incident is believed to be targeted, however, police are still working to identify a connection.
"Generally these matters are targeted it's not random…I would suggest people make sure your doors are locked, if you've got a garage put your cars into the garage, ensure your valuables are secured," Whyte said.
"This is an extremely upsetting incident for [the family], it'd be nothing short of catastrophic for them."
