SES crews respond to more than 100 calls for help across Victoria
Winter has arrived with force across Victoria, with Melbourne and multiple suburbs outside the city smashed by gusty winds that toppled trees onto cars, roads, and roofs.
State Emergency Service (SES) crews have responded to more than 100 calls for help, with the busiest areas being Emerald, Frankston and Pakenham units.
Sarah Jackson was among the residents who received assistance from volunteers.

"I was just working out in the gym and came out to find the tree on my car," Jackson said.
"Really rapt that they're here to help out."
From Upway to Selby, the Dandenong Ranges felt the full wrath of damaging winds.

"I was ready to go shopping and couldn't get out of the driveway," homeowner Mary said.
The local SES was on the job from the early hours, with a call to Belgrave, where a car was crushed by a tree.
The car was a write-off despite the resident's best attempts to find a safe place to park.
While many residents rugged up from the elements, the weather was celebrated on the ski fields.
"She might be a day or two late but we're as excited as ever for the fresh snow," Alex Pankiw from Mt Hotham Skiing Company said.
"This is certainly the most powerful surge we've had of that weather so far," Angus Hines from the Bureau of Meteorology said.
