Two SA police appear on assault charge

Two serving South Australian police officers have not been suspended after being charged with assault after an investigation by the state's corruption watchdog.

Sean Gregory Hobbs and Andrew Allan Jaunay appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday charged over an incident in Whyalla, in South Australia's mid-north, in 2013.

A prosecutor asked for the case to be adjourned for eight weeks with defence counsel telling the court the two men were still on active duty but had been ordered by the force not to communicate with each other.
