Thieving duo runs out of steam in SA

A pair of alleged thieves have run out of steam after their stolen car broke down in country South Australia.

A 35-year-old man and 34-year-old woman broke down while on the run in a stolen car near Cowell, south of Whyalla, on on Tuesday morning, police allege.

The pair were wanted over a series of offences including a break-in and thefts along the Eyre Peninsula, from Ceduna to Port Lincoln.

The man was refused bail to appear in Whyalla Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with offences including aggravated serious criminal trespass.

The woman was bailed to appear in court on December 7 charged with offences including the illegal use of a car and theft.
