SA mining contractor cuts 125 jobs
AAP
More South Australian workers will lose their jobs after a mining contractor announced it would shed more than 100 positions.
BGC Contracting will cut 125 jobs from two projects near Whyalla in October.
"As a result of the current market environment and reduced mining volumes, BGC Contracting has made changes to mine plans at its operations at Iron Knob and South Middleback Ranges in South Australia," the company said in a statement.
