SA man tries to run over police

A man is accused of trying to run over police officers after a car chase in Adelaide.

Police say the 40-year-old reversed towards the officers when his tyres were spiked after a car chase in the city's north-eastern suburbs early on Monday.

Police then forced their way into the car, arresting the man.

He will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday charged with assault, endangering life, engaging in a police pursuit and breach of bail.
