SA man dead after being hit by train

A South Australian man is dead after a train hit him while he was walking across tracks.

Police were called to the Harris St level crossing at Birkenhead in Port Adelaide just after 10am on Sunday, where the man's body was found.

The 62-year-old West Lakes Shore man died at the scene.

Police said his death was being treated as suspicious.
