South Australian man 'covered in blood' jumps in car

A man allegedly armed with a knife and covered in blood has jumped into the back of car in Adelaide's north, before dying a short time later.

Police say the man jumped in the back seat of a small red sedan in Golden Grove just before midday on Saturday, and asked the driver to take him to the hospital.

Another driver, who was travelling behind the sedan, witnessed the blood-soaked man step into the vehicle.

Fearing for that driver's safety, they deliberately drove their 4WD into the car.

The injured man exited the vehicle and walked off, but collapsed and died of his injuries despite the efforts of paramedics.

Neither of the drivers were physically injured.

Police are yet to determine if the death was suspicious or was a result of self-inflicted injuries.
