SA duo try to rob hotel with tyre lever

Hotel patrons enjoying a quiet mid-week drink at an Adelaide pub have foiled a robbery after a man burst into the gaming room armed with a tyre lever.

The 46-year-old man was grabbed by customers at the Morphett Vale hotel late on Tuesday night and held until police arrived.

Police also arrested a 45-year-old woman nearby and both have been refused bail to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrate Court on Wednesday charged with attempted aggravated robbery.
