Residents escape suspicious SA fire

Nine people at an Adelaide homeless shelter have escaped a fire which authorities say is suspicious.

Firefighters were called to the Baptist Care Refugee Services in the CBD's Wright Street on Tuesday morning.

The Metropolitan Fire Service said nine people, who were upstairs, escaped safely.

The damage has been estimated at $100,000 and police are investigating the fire, which is considered suspicious.

A resident told ABC Radio the fire was the third in the building in recent weeks.
