The federal government has announced a $25 million regional roads package for South Australia that it says will improve safety and create jobs.

Assistant Infrastructure Minister Jamie Briggs says the money will come from unspent funds allocated to South Australia in the Murray Darling Basin Regional Economic Diversification Scheme.

Regional roads are big winners under the government's record $2 billion infrastructure investment in South Australia, the minister says.
