Man steals cash from Adelaide servo

A man is on the run after robbing an Adelaide service station while armed with what's believed to be a garden stake.

The man threatened two workers at the Smithfield store with wielding the pointed weapon on Tuesday before jumping the counter and taking cash from a register, police said.

The thief, who was wearing a bandana, fled and is now being sought by South Australian officers.
