SA man admits attacking French tourist

A man who stabbed a French tourist in the neck at a national park in Adelaide has pleaded guilty over the attack.

Antoni James Barresi appeared in the Supreme Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated causing serious harm with intent and aggravated assault.

Barresi stabbed Maxime Michel during an altercation in the Belair National Park in January last year and was arrested at a nearby railway station.

Mr Michel suffered stab wounds to his neck and hand and was taken to hospital.

The court was told on Monday that a psychological report on Barresi had already been finalised and a number of victim impact statements would also be provided.

Barresi will return for sentencing submissions on June 12.
