A coroner will deliver her findings into the death of a baby boy who was born with a severe brain injury at an Adelaide hospital.

An inquest was launched in June into the death of George Darcy Key, who presented at birth with hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy at the North Eastern Community Hospital on October 21, 2011.

He died eight days later after an emergency transfer to Flinders Medical Centre.

The court heard during the inquest that baby George had an undersized placenta, which could cause problems, but this was not identified before the birth.

Deputy State Coroner Elizabeth Sheppard will deliver her findings in the Adelaide Coroner's Court on Friday.
