Education staff counselled over Chloe

Child welfare workers criticised in the Chloe Valentine child abuse case in South Australia have undergone counselling over their poor decisions.

The Department for Education and Child Development says seven of eight staff criticised in the coronial finding into the four-year-old girl's death have completed counselling sessions with chief executive Tony Harrison.

Poor decisions were made but it's clear from a departmental review that in the majority of cases they resulted from misguided policy, insufficient guidance or a lack of training, Mr Harrison said.
