Drunk driver crashes twice, loses licence

A 19-year-old Adelaide driver has lost his licence for 12 months after allegedly crashing his car twice in one day.

Police say the Adelaide Plains man lost control of his vehicle in Gawler East on Friday, colliding with two parked cars and a fence before driving away.

He crashed into another fence nearby and eventually abandoned the car.

Officers found him at a nearby house and took him to a police station where he allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading almost four times over the limit and had his licence suspended immediately.

They say his vehicle wasn't impounded as it was too badly damaged.
