20-year sentence for Adelaide siege gunman

A man who pointed a gun at two police officers during an 11-hour siege in Adelaide has been sentenced to 20 years in jail.

Stephen Guy Mann was sentenced in the District Court on Friday over 11 offences and will spend at a minimum of 16-years behind bars, according to media reports.

Mann had been charged over a tense police stand-off at a real estate office on East Terrace in June 2015.

The siege began after Mann, and allegedly one other man, were spotted on the roof of the office before dawn on June 13.

Parts of Adelaide's central business district were closed off as heavily armed tactical police surrounded the building.

More than five hours into negotiations bullets were fired and Mann was shot in the upper chest and taken to hospital.

Anthony David Busuttil pleaded not guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in January to a string of offences related to the siege.

He was ordered to stand trial in the District Court.
