Queensland has recorded no new cases overnight as state health authorities fight to keep numbers down.

Members of the ADF will be assisting in patrolling borders in order to keep anyone travelling from a Melbourne hotspot out of the state.

Meanwhile, NSW has recorded six new cases of the virus as of 8pm last night, Friday July 3.

Five of the new cases are returned travellers who are now undertaking two weeks in hotel quarantine.
