A one-year-old boy has died after he was run over by a reversing car while playing in the driveway of a home north of Brisbane.

Emergency services rushed to the property in Bald Hills at about 10.15am to treat the boy who was suffering from head injuries.

It is understood the boy's father came into contact with him on the driveway.

The mother and father were in the ambulance when paramedics took the badly injured toddler to Redcliffe Hospital, but the boy died upon arrival.
