Suspended Qld firefighter back on duty

A Queensland firefighter suspended over a sexual assault allegation has returned to duty following the completion of an internal investigation.

The 41-year-old firefighter from the southeast region was suspended in January after a complaint was made to police.

The complaint was withdrawn but the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services still suspended him as it was policy for the Public Safety Business Agency Ethical Standards Unit to carry out an investigation into misconduct.

That investigation has been completed and no disciplinary action was taken, the fire service advised on Thursday.
