Insurance bill from last week's Brisbane superstorm hits $200m

The insurance bill from last week's hailstorm in Brisbane has reached $200 million.
Insurers had received almost 40,000 claims for home, contents and motor vehicle damage, the Insurance Council of Australia said on Monday.
That figure is expected to rise as residents continue to mop up after the supercell system smashed the state capital on Thursday.
More than 108,000 properties lost power during the storm. Energy crews have since restored power to those homes and businesses.
The SES has responded to about 2000 requests for help, mainly for damaged roofs, and has 500 jobs to go.
Crews hope to complete high-priority tasks before the rain that is predicted to reach Brisbane later this week.
