Speeding Qld hoon's car impounded

A hoon has had his car impounded after being caught doing 116km/h near a school south of Brisbane.

Police say the 21-year-old was clocked in a 60km/h zone near the school at Shailer Park, 40 minutes after the 40km/h school zone limit had ended on Wednesday morning.

He was also fined $1137 and lost eight demerit points.
