Skateboarder hit by car dies in hospital

A man has died in hospital after being hit by a car while skateboarding north of Brisbane.

The 39 year old was hit by a car while skateboarding at Kippa-Ring last Sunday.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment of serious head injuries.

Doctors pronounced him dead on Tuesday after his condition did not improve.

The forensic crash unit is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
