Warnings as hail, heavy winds slam south-east Queensland
Storms bringing heavy hail, damaging winds, and driving rain have hammered south-east Queensland this weekend, and residents have been warned to expect more of the same in coming days.
Hail fell across multiple areas of the region, including Blackbutt, south of Kingaroy, and Proston, further to the north.

“I’ve lived here for four years and I haven’t seen anything like it,” one Blackbutt local said.
Photos from her home showed hail laying thickly on the ground.
Multiple flood warnings remain in place across the region after days of rain culminated in storms last week.
And locals are urged to be prepared for more, with the already-soaked ground set to cop more downpour this week.

The Bureau of Meteorology’s forecast says the chance of further thunderstorms in the region will remain for the coming days, with potential flash flooding in some places.
Tomorrow and Wednesday in particular could see more large hail and damaging winds throughout the south-east.
Showers and storms are forecast for Brisbane tomorrow, with falls of up to 20mm.
While the later weekdays could see conditions ease, rain is expected to return to the capital on the weekend.
