The grandstand set up on the sand collapsed suddenly during a performance by Boom Crash Opera just before 3pm on Sunday.
It’s understood the band immediately stopped their set and called for medical assistance over the microphone.
Out of the four people injured, there was a woman suffering an injury to her collarbone, another with an injury to her ankle and two men with back injuries.
“Most of the people suffered bruises and lacerations and probably just generally in shock over the incident,” Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Gavin Fuller said.
“But yes, it was lucky that there wasn't more serious injuries and a lot more people injured.”
The festival resumed about an hour after the incident.
It’s understood organisers have already told those affected ticket holders they will be refunded.
The matter has been referred to Workplace Health and Safety.
