Qld restaurant worker chases off thieves

A Queensland restaurant worker has fended off a machete-wielding thief during a late night robbery southwest of Brisbane.

Two men targeted the Redbank Plains business around 8.30pm on Thursday and one entered the premises with the weapon to demand money while his accomplice waited outside.

But the male staff member armed himself with a stick and chased away the intruders, who fled empty-handed.
