Search continues for kayaker missing off Fraser Island

The search has resumed for a missing kayaker off Queensland's Fraser Island.

The man was paddling with a friend when they were dislodged from their kayaks by a wave about 500 metres north of Happy Valley yesterday afternoon.

One made it to shore but rescuers were unable to find his friend before bad weather forced them to call off the search for the night.
