Qld police officer to appear in court

A Queensland sergeant will appear in court to face allegations he drove after drinking in July last year.

The 54-year-old from the Education and Training Command was not on duty at the time and he will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on April 14, police said in a statement.

"The NTA (Notice To Appear in court) was not issued sooner due to other matters impacting on the timeframe of the investigation," police said.
