Qld man charged over gun at street fight

A man who allegedly flashed a gun around during a fight on a Gold Coast residential street will face court.

Police were called to reports of a fight on Dartmouth Crescent, Varsity Lakes, about 3pm on Sunday.

A local resident, a group of youths and the 34-year-old man were fighting when officers arrived.

The man had allegedly been waving a gun around before police arrived.

Officers later searched his Robina home and allegedly found a gun and drug substances and paraphernalia.

The man has been charged with two counts each of carrying an exposed weapon in a public place, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on July 17.
