Qld cop suspended for weapon offences

A Queensland police officer has been suspended from duty after an internal probe was set up to investigate alleged weapons offences.

The 53-year-old male sergeant from the Southern Region is due in court in June on offences relating to the unlawful possession of weapons and failure to properly store and secure weapons.

It comes a day after a 39-year-old senior constable from the Central Region was suspended after being accused of crashing a police car when he was off duty and over the limit.
