A Queensland woman was riding the morning train to work unaware she had won more than $1 million in the lottery.

A Golden Casket representative was meanwhile trying to call her at home as she commuted along the Ipswich line, southwest of Brisbane.

It was not until later on Thursday morning that the woman, in her 40s, discovered the good news when she checked her lottery numbers.

The overwhelmed winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said it was too early to make plans.

"I can't believe it! This prize will be an amazing help," she said.

"I've still got to go work but I don't know how I'm going to concentrate today."

She said she had been playing the same numbers for about 20 years.

"They weren't even special numbers like birthdays; they were just random ones I picked back then."

It was the only entry that won a first division prize of $1 million.

The winning numbers were 44, 1, 16, 37, 29, 20, with the supplementary numbers 32 and 6.
