Gold Coast landslide forces residents near property development to evacuate
Gold Coast residents have been forced out of their homes after rain caused significant damage to a neighbouring commercial property development, causing a landslide.
Recent rain in Queensland caused the soil of a property development to cave in, causing a landslide and damaging the Rainbow Holiday Flats building and the properties around it on Eden Avenue.
Some residents were forced to leave, while neighbouring properties' walls and pipes have begun to crack.

Significant damage to backyards and doors has also been reported.
Eden Avenue resident Ana Cancio is uncertain how long her home will hold.
"The soil has just like moved like it was just like a landslide," she said.
"For now we're allowed to stay, we don't know how long though."

Hutchinson Builders, who are responsible for the property development, told 9News that it's "working closely with neighbours to ensure the impacts are remedied," and are working to relocate some residents while damage inspections take place.
