Palaszczuk on track for victory: poll

Southeast Queensland could be a gold mine for Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk as the state election looms.

A Galaxy poll published in News Corp Australia's Courier Mail has Ms Palaszczuk on track to win the 47 seats she needs for a majority, buoyed by the state's southeast corner which boasts two thirds of Queensland's 93 electorates.

Labor has an intimidating lead in that area on two-party terms, leading by 54 per cent to the LNP's 46.

The overall poll of 1500 Queenslanders had Labor at 52 per cent and the LNP 48.
